When I got out to the truck this morning, I had a voicemail waiting on my cell phone (yeah, I leave it in the truck). It was the g/f... calling to tell me good morning and how lucky she was to have me in her life. Does it get any better than that?

Robert McKee: Story: Substance, Structure, Style and The Principles of Screenwriting
Just getting going on this one. I should point out - this is not a textbook, it's a guide.
Dan Brown: The Da Vinci Code
Great setup, interesting history and symbology lesson. However, the ending is disappointing, as it feels like the author got tired of writing and just wanted it over. (****)
Scott Mccloud: Understanding Comics
This is a textbook not only for comics, but for storytelling, user interface design, human comprehension... (*****)
Eric Schlosser: Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal
I learned some things from this book, which is good, but it wasn't quite as incendiary as I had heard. (***)
Barbara Sher: I Could Do Anything If I Only Knew What It Was: How to Discover What You Really Want and How to Get It
A quality self-help book. I'm rereading it now. I would rate this book five stars, but some of the exercises - which are very important to take a stab at - really require a more social setting. You need someone to give you feedback for some of the more useful exercises. Unlike Po Bronson's "What Should I Do With My Life?", Sher doesn't just give you anecdotes about what other people did, she gives you tools to look at your own life. (****)
I find all your posts to be worthwhile reads, and I come here often, so please, update more!
