Just now, I was the lucky recipient of some very wise words, courtesy of Andrea:

Wow.

Moral of this story? Go forth and spend your happiness - you can always make more. Give it away freely because it'll return to you tenfold.

How To Impress Women

Today, my girlfriend received email from a guy on a personals site. I thought this would be a good example of How To Impress a Woman, and really get her interested in meeting and dating you.

Before you ask, my girlfriend's profile is still up because she's been too busy with me to get on the computer :P.

The following has been posted with the email recipient's permission and has been edited to somewhat protect identities... but laugh anyway.

Self-Diagnosis

Based on a recent experience with regard to dating, I've come up with an interesting theory. I feel privileged that I've been able to do some self-reflecting and learn from my past relationship and dating experiences. It takes a lot to confront yourself honestly about your own behavior and what your contribution to relationship difficulties truly was. From that confrontation I began to recognize patterns of my own behavior - I could see that I was acting certain ways in response to various "signals" from women (whether they were real signals or not).

So here's my theory - maybe the way to recognize whether someone is "the one" is by analyzing your past behavior, and seeing what you're not doing in your relationship with this new person. The more those past behaviors don't seem to exist, the more likely he or she is the right one for you.

Of course, I could be totally wrong, but it just seems like this is the best explanation I can come up with. At any rate, I have a new girlfriend... let's hope this one lasts :).

Hit and Run

This afternoon I was the recipient of a hit-and-run instant message response to my online personal (no, I won't tell you which one... nyah). This whole conversation lasted a whopping 9 minutes - just taking the time to read it here will, I think, give you the same surreal vibe I got while living it in real-time. Names have been changed to protect the potentially innocent. I've replaced the emoticons sent in the IM so you can get a feel for what it was like.

One important note - this person (female, obviously) lived a little far away from me; Peru, to be exact. Also, some of this is in Spanish; I would translate, but I think it's funnier if you look up the translation yourself.

Name Change

So, as you can see above, I've changed the title of my blog. Why? I noticed that I'd get a lot of search hits for people looking for the phrase "last will and testament". They'd then click the search result that brought them to my blog. What were they thinking?

Anyway, I think the new title will more likely reflect what I post here, and I promise I'll post more often.

Dating in the 21st century is pretty damned funny, especially from personal experience. Cha-cha-cha!
